How Does BALM Build Leaders?

I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. John 17:20-23

Just before his crucifixion, Jesus prayed that his followers would be united with one another in the same way (in equal amounts) that He is united with His Father. This unity demonstrates the supernatural power of God, and proves Jesus' message. May God's church reflect this unity!

Despite a year of unprecedented challenges, God has blessed BALM’s mission to multiply Christ-centered, cross cultural leaders for disciple-making movements for new or renewed churches for Baltimore and beyond. We're excited to see how He has worked, and want to share that with you. We attach our first-ever Annual Report here.

BALM addresses one of the biggest needs in our region: leadership. With over 80% of churches plateaued or declining--and this was before Covid-19—new ways of training leaders, reaching unbelievers, and reproducing disciples are needed. BALM seeks to create such disciple-makers for the church at large.

We do this through BALM’s unique Head-Heart-Hands model: theological education for adults and students; coaching and mentoring for pastors and leaders who are planting or revitalizing churches; and training in works of mercy, justice and benevolence.

We are so grateful for the individuals, churches and foundations who have partnered with us in our mission. To God be the glory!
